Takaful Saver Parent Contributor

  • Takaful Saver is a regular contribution investment-linked family Takaful rider for investment purpose only where contributions (after deducting upfront Wakalah charge) will be used to purchase units in the Investment Unit Account (IUA).

    For as little as RM10 a month, you can add on Takaful Saver supplementary benefit to enable you to buy more units. Takaful Saver does not have any Takaful cover and 95% of the contribution is allocated to buy units. The contribution direction into selected investment funds will follow the Takafulink contribution direction i.e. Participants are not allowed to decide a different contribution direction for Takaful Saver.

    Takaful Saver Parent Contributor: In the event of death, TPD before age 60 or diagnosis of a critical illness on the parent of the Participant, the benefit will assist the participant with future contributions to the Takaful Saver. Payment of annual benefit will cease upon death of Participant or upon reaching age 60.
    1. Benefits
      1.1
    • Takaful Saver Contributor Benefit is applicable to the Participant
    • 1.2
    • Whilst the Certificate and this Annexure is in force, and the Participant is diagnosed to be suffering from a Critical Illness, then the Company will pay the Amount of this Benefit as specified in Schedule 2
    • 1.3
    • Upon a claim being made under this Annexure, payment of the Amount of this Benefit specified in Schedule 2 shall be allocated towards the purchase of Units in accordance with the prescribed allocation rate for each Contribution Year as set out in Schedule 2 hereto
    • 1.4
    • Where the Total Contribution under the certificate is paid more frequently than once annually, then the amount of this Benefit as specified in Schedule 2 shall be allocated towards the purchase of Units on a pro rated basis depending on how frequently the Total Contributions were last payable. The first allocation shall commence on the contribution due date immediately following the date of claim and the subsequent allocations on the following due dates thereafter.
    • 1.5
    • The payments and allocations under this Annexure shall cease immediately upon the death of the Participant
    • 1.6
    • Critical Illness is defined in the Glossary of Terms
    2. Limitations
    • Only one claim under this Benefit may be made regardless of the number of Critical Illnesses diagnosed, except for Full Blown AIDS.
    3. Exclusions
    • This Annexure shall not apply or be payable:
    • 3.1
    • If the symptoms of the Critical Illness is manifested prior to or;
      • Within sixty (60) days for Heart Attack, Coronary Artery Heart Disease requiring Surgery, Cancer or other Serious Coronary Artery Heart Disease of; or
      • Within thirty (30) days for all other Critical Illness listed in the Glossary of Terms of
        • The date of this Certificate; or
        • The date of issue of this Annexure; or
        • The date of Revival; or
        • The date of Endorsement; or
        • The commencement date of the Benefit;
        whichever is the latest.
    • 3.2
    • If the Participant is diagnosed to have a Critical Illness that is caused directly or indirectly by the existence of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) or the presence of any Human Immunodeficiency Virus infection. The exception is when AIDS is full-blown or is caused by blood transfusion.
    4. Conditions
      4.1
    • Written notice of any claim under this Annexure must be given to the Head Office of the Takaful Operator in Kuala Lumpur within ninety days (90) after the date of such diagnosis. Failure to do so shall not invalidate any claim if it shall be shown not to have been reasonably possible to give such notice and that notice was given as soon as was reasonably possible.
    • 4.2
    • The admission of any claim under this Annexure shall be subject to proof of diagnosis of Critical Illness that is satisfactory to the Takaful Operator and such proof must be furnished to the Company:
      • during the lifetime of the Participant; and
      • not exceeding 6 months from the diagnosis date; and
      • at the Participant's own expense
    • The Takaful Operator reserves the right to decline any claim if the above conditions are not met.
      4.3
    • At each anniversary of the diagnosis date, the Participant shall submit proof of continued survival. If such proof is not furnished this Benefit shall immediately cease on the date of such request by the Takaful Operator.
    • 4.4
    • The Takaful Operator reserves the right at any time and from time to time to vary the contribution by giving written notice to the Participant at the last known address. Contribution revision shall only be effective at the next certificate anniversary date. Should the next certificate anniversary date fall within 90 days from the date of such notice, contribution revision shall then be effective at the following certificate anniversary date.
    • 4.5
    • This Annexure will terminate automatically:
      • upon the Certificate being surrendered; or
      • upon the expiry date of this Benefit as specified in Schedule 2; or
      • upon the death of the Person covered; or
      • a claim being admitted under the Takaful Saver Spouse Contributor or Takaful Saver Parent Contributor Annexure, whichever shall first occur
    • Termination of this Benefit shall not prejudice any claim that has arisen prior to such termination.
