Family Income Benefit

  • Family Income Benefit pays a monthly benefit to the family for 120 months should the covered person die. If the covered person is diagnosed to suffer from a critical illness before expiry of the term or TPD before age 70, the benefit will be payable to the Participant.

    Important terms and conditions of the product
    • The benefit will only cover death if the covered person has attained eighteen (18) years old.
    • The Takaful Operator reserves the right to increase the contribution and Tabarru' at any time by giving a 90-day written notice to the Participant at the last known address. Contribution and Tabarru' revision shall only be effective at the next certificate anniversary date. Should the next certificate anniversary date fall within 90 days from the date of such notice, contribution and Tabarru' revision shall then be effective at the following certificate anniversary date.
    • You are to disclose in this proposal form (and in any personal statement made to the Takaful Operator or to the Medical Examiner of the Takaful Operator) fully and faithfully, all the facts which you know and ought to know, otherwise the certificate issued hereunder may be invalidated.
    • At each anniversary of the disability date, the Participant shall
        4.1
      • submit proof of continued total and permanent disablement; and
      • 4.2
      • if required by the Takaful Operator, submit himself or herself to a medical examination conducted by a duly qualified registered medical practitioner appointed by the Takaful Operator.
    • The Takaful Operator reserves the right to determine the frequency of such medical examination as it may reasonably require. If such proof is not furnished or if the Participant shall refuse or fail to submit to a medical examination when required to do so, this Benefit shall immediately cease on the date of such request by the Takaful Operator.
    Limitations
    You can only make one claim under this benefit regardless how many critical illnesses you are diagnosed with, except for the full-blown AIDS or a total and permanent disability that happens at the same time with a critical illness.
    Exclusions
    • This benefit will not apply or be payable if such disability is directly or indirectly caused by:
        1.1
      • Attempted suicide or self-inflicted injuries while sane or insane
      • 1.2
      • Engaging in aerial flights (including parachuting and skydiving) other than as a crew member of or as a fare paying passenger on a licensed passenger carrying commercial aircraft operating on a regular scheduled route
    • The benefits shall not be payable:
        2.1
      • If the symptoms of the Critical Illness is manifested prior to or;
        • Within sixty (60) days for Heart Attack, Coronary Artery Heart Disease requiring Surgery, Cancer or other Serious Coronary Artery Heart Disease of; or
        • Within thirty (30) days for all other Critical Illness listed in the Glossary of Terms of
          • The date of this Certificate; or
          • The date of issue of this Annexure; or
          • The date of Revival; or S
          • The date of Endorsement; or
          • The commencement date of the Benefit;
          whichever is the latest.
      • 2.2
      • If the participant is diagnosed to have a Critical Illness that is caused directly or indirectly by the existence of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) or the presence of any Human Immunodeficiency Virus infection. The exception is when AIDS is full-blown or is caused by blood transfusion.
