    What are the benefits that PruBSN Ummah offer?

    Savings
    Earn Loyalty Bonus1Receive this benefit for being our loyal customer when you complete your Takaful period

    Additionally, the accumulated bonus will be paid in the event of death or disability on top of your other Takaful benefits

    For peace of mind during Hajj, you will also be given a Hajj allowance, which is part of the loyalty bonus. This allowance is intended to supplement your expenses.

    You can also use it to ensure that the financial needs of your family at home are taken care of whilst you perform your obligations in Mecca
    Grow even higher savingsYou can make additional savings through Ummah Saver2 that will be channeled solely for savings purposes to be used for your Hajj / Umrah and other future plans
    Withdrawals of savings for Hajj or UmrahYou can withdraw3 part of your savings from your account to supplement the need for your Hajj or Umrah journey
    1 Loyalty bonus is a non-guaranteed benefit. It is paid purely at the discretion of Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad and subject to terms and conditions that need to be fulfilled by participants.
       There is a waiting period of 5 years before you are eligible for the benefit.

    Protection
    Death and Total and Permanent Disability Benefits (TPD)Upon your death or total and permanent disability, your nominee or you will receive cash equivalent to your coverage i.e. Takaful benefit amount to help you and your family move on

    In addition, your family will receive an additional RM2,000 as a form of Compassionate Benefit that can be used for funeral or other related expenses
    Double Your Takaful Benefits4 while on Hajj or UmrahDouble coverage i.e. Takaful benefit amount will be payable, in the unfortunate case of your death or total and permanent disability (TPD) while performing your Hajj or Umrah

    Extend this coverage for unlimited trip of Hajj / Umrah throughout your Takaful term by attaching Double Takaful Plus5
    Badal HajjIn the event of your passing or suffering from total and permanent disability before you have the opportunity to perform Hajj, we will ensure your Hajj obligation is fulfilled by paying RM3,000 to your nominee or a third party to perform Badal Hajj for you

    Badal Hajj benefit is also provided for your covered children from age 13 years old
    Critical Illness BenefitsWe will provide you with a part of your basic coverage amount as financial assistance if you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness when you add Crisis Shield5
    Ensure continuous protectionChoose from our range of Contributor riders2 that will pay for your future contributions in the event of critical illness, total and permanent disability or loss of life to ensure that your protection and savings in the plan will continue

    Who can take up this plan?

    This plan is for anyone aged between 1 and 60 years old, who want a plan that not only gives them protection and savings, but also assists them in fulfilling their religious obligations.

    How can PruBSN Ummah assist you on top of your Tabung Haji savings?

    PruBSN Ummah is not a replacement for your Tabung Haji account. It complements your Tabung Haji savings by providing you with additional savings and Takaful protection.

    When is the loyalty bonus paid?

    The loyalty bonus is paid as a percentage of your contribution when any of the following events occurs:
    • Perform Hajj (as a Hajj allowance), or
    • Survive until the end of the plan, or
    • Become totally and permanently disabled, or
    • Pass away
    The longer the Takaful term, the higher the bonus you receive. In addition, your loyalty bonus will continue to grow even after you have used it as a Hajj Allowance for as long as you continue to pay the contribution. The loyalty bonus will be payable subject to the events mentioned above.

    How do I make arrangement for Badal Hajj?

    In the unfortunate event of your death or total and permanent disability before performing Hajj, we will make the necessary arrangement for Badal Hajj to be performed for you. We will pay RM 3,000 to your nominee (preferably your next of kin aged 18 years and above) or Tabung Haji Travel & Services for them to perform Badal Hajj for you.

    How can I enhance PruBSN Ummah coverage?

    You may enhance your PruBSN Ummah benefits with the following additional optional benefits.

    Ensure continuous protectionChoose from selections of Contributor riders that will pay for your future protection contributions in the event of critical illness, total and permanent disability or loss of life. These contributor riders are also available to cover you as a parent or your spouse.

    For your saving contributions, opt for Ummah Saver Contributor riders to ensure your savings continue to grow in the event of critical illness, total and permanent disability or loss of life
    Note: Adding more optional benefits increase your contributions.

    How do I benefit from Islamic Will Writing services?

    We will provide you with all the necessary arrangement needed for your will to be made in a hassle-free environment. The will you make will be managed by Amanah Raya Berhad.

    You will only need to pay a one-time fee for this service.

    How much do I contribute for this plan?

    The minimum monthly contribution is RM50. However, your actual contribution amount shall depend on the following:
    • your age
    • your amount and term of coverage
    • your health status
    • your gender
    • your payment method
    • the frequency of payment, whether monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly

    What are the charges involved in PruBSN Ummah?

    The basis of PruBSN Ummah is the Wakalah Bil Ajr model where we put your contribution into your account after we take a portion of it as Wakalah charge. This is a fee for the services we provide.

       For Ummah Saver, the upfront Wakalah charge is 5% throughout the certificate term.

    We deduct an amount monthly based on your age, gender, health status, amount of coverage and the duration of the coverage

    How does sharing of Investment Profit on Mudharabah Principles work?

    The Mudharabah principles allow any investment profit arising from the Individual Special Account (ISA) to be shared between you and us. On profit-sharing basis, you will receive 80% of the investment profit, while we will receive the balance 20%. Your share of the profit will be placed back into your ISA.

    Would I receive any Surplus from this plan?

    You are entitled to receive at least 50%7 of the surplus distributed (if any) on yearly basis. The balance of up to 50%7 is shared with us as an incentive for managing the Tabarru’ Fund.

    7 The exact amount of surplus to be distributed will be determined annually and be subject to approval by both Shariah Committee and Board of Directors of Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad.
